Do Now 9/29

An editorial is an open article.  In this type of article you can really expressed your opinion.  It is an open opportunity for the author to fully express their feeling on a topic.  Almost every teacher at Wood-Ridge High School has expressed their feelings about Wikipedia.  Especially the English department.  Basically every teacher is fully against Wikipedia due to the fact that you can log on to the server and change anything that is written.
No the teachers in our school do not let us use Wikipedia as a source.  This is because the Wikipedia is not a reliable source.  It is always changing everyday because people log on and change all the information.
After reading this article my thoughts on Wikipedia did change.  i will no longer use it because the information changes on it everyday.  when i do my work i would rather use reliable sources. Not Wikipedia because i do it want to use wrong information.

Web 2.0 Multimedia Blog Posting

One class that I am taking this year is Medical Terminology.  The teacher who teachers this class is Mr. Maniscalco. My expectations for this course is to learn the language of medicine.  The language comes from Latin and Greek root words combined.  So far from the beginning of the school year till now we have learned how to combine the root word and suffix's and learned about the cardiac system. This is a structure of the heart.  . Click Me to see some root words and suffixes. Also Click Here to see more notes we will learn.  To combine these two you must use as connecting vowel unless one is already attached to the word.  We have also learned how to break about words and how to find out the meaning of the words.
Mr. Man's grading policy is broken down into different parts.  Projects are worth the most.  They are 50%.  The other categories are broken down.  Homework, Quiz's, and Informal Assessments are all worth 10%.  Tests are worth 20%. Once you add all this together it equals 100% and that's the grade you will have.
One interesting aspect we have in our is the way Mr. Man teaches.  He is a very laid back teacher.  When he talks about these terms or a disease, the way he explains it makes every student feel very interested.  You can really tell that he loves teaching about medicine, the body structure, and the diseases. Another interesting thing about this class is the book.  The book is massive and really has everything I will learn throughout the coarse of the year.   click here to see a video on medical terminology terms.
The technology that is used in that class is very minimum. Mr. Man uses his iPad to show use certain notes.  He uses apps that have to do with Medical terms to help us learn them easily.

9-12-14 weekly tech article

The new Start menu slated for Windows 9 appears to be the star of a video showing us exactly how it will work. Leaked and posted by German blog site Win Future on Thursday, the video seemingly offers an early glimpse of the Start menu in action as it may appear in the Technical Preview of Build 9834 for Windows Threshold, aka Windows 9. Reports claim that Microsoft could unveil this Preview edition later this month or early next month.
